Valentines Day is over, and some are relieved it is over. For people who experience stressful times in their relationship, or people who are signle. I am simplifying things, saying that movies and media are to blame. There is no such thing as “happily ever after”, the effortless love thay they portrait is bullshit. There is nothing wrong with being single, not everyone finds someone they want to be with so easily, for many reasons. And a relationship requires work to keep the romance alive. Sometimes other things have to be prioritized, like children, work or sick parents. Sometimes there is no room for giving your partner what he or she needs to feel loved.
And sometimes it is:) Sometimes everyday life quietly suffocates romance, but there are things to do.
Perhaps today is a time for practicing a loving-kindness meditation. It is not as difficult as it may seem. Keep your focus on something or someone that gives you a pure sense of love or kindness. When your mind wanders, because it will, that is ok, just try to focus on that feeling again. Perhaps you can make that emotion stronger. After a few days practicing this meditation, you might feel a switch in how you initially respond emotionally to your loved ones. Give it a try, what have you got to lose?:)
